Friends of St. James' Church

The objects of ‘The Friends’

1.  To raise funds for the long-term maintenance of the fabric and the furnishings of St. James’ Church

2.  To create a body of people, both locally and at a distance who have an interest in seeing that the Church of St. James continues to flourish

3.  To keep in touch with members, providing news of developments and events

4.  To  promote activites, events and friendships within the congregation and community in support of St. James’ Church

Styles of Membership

The level of subscription is set by the PCC and are currently as follows:

All subscriptions and donations (cheques payable to St. James’  Church, Shilbottle) will be recorded on receipt and acknowledged.  You can increase the value of your donation by Gift-aiding it:  please complete the reverse side of the Subscription form if you are a tax payer.

A membership  application is available at the church or will be sent to you on request.

Governance

‘The Friends’ is sponsored by Shilbottle Parochial Chuch Council, who appoints its Chair and Treasurer.  Income from membership and fundraising will be held in a designated restricted account within the PCC Accounts, that are inpsected or audited each year.  The officers will always be keen to welcome offers of help in promoting the objects of The Friends.
